Solar Plexus Chakra
This post will discuss the Solar Plexus Chakra also known as Manipura in Sanskrit. This chakra embodies the color yellow and is depicted with the image above.
The herbs and scents associated with this chakra are; ginger, cinnamon, sandalwood, and patchouli.
The element associated with this chakra is Fire. This chakra embodies the energy of the sun and encompasses a point where energy as a whole radiates from your body, this also includes the radiation of personal will power and confidence. In the Hindu culture yellow also represents mental development. The 10 petals of the lotus are said to represent 10 blocking qualities on the petals that must be overcome to fully open this Chakra: sadness, foolishness, delusion, disgust, fear, shame, treachery, jealousy, ambition, and ignorance.
The main aspect of this Chakra is the identity of your ego. To a certain extent the ego is a good and needed thing. Without the ego we have a sense of shame for existing.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is located in the upper abdominal area near the diaphragm between the belly button, also referred to as your gut. Incidentally the terms “use your gut” or “listen to your gut” was created due to the sensations that you feel from this chakra. As the saying implies, this chakra is about using your personal power and listening to yourself confidently. This chakra uses your personal power and self-esteem to turn inertia into actions and movement. Think of this chakra as a propeller propelling you into the world around yourself.
If this chakra is out of balance you can experience mental symptoms such as; Memory loss, lack of self-esteem, low vibrating or negative thoughts, feelings of being “stuck”, insomnia, and no will to act. You may also experience physical symptoms such as; eating disorders, digestive and intestinal issues,  food allergies, heartburn, poor metabolism, diabetes, obesity, eczema, acne, and other stress-related skin conditions. If you are experiencing any of these at a level you feel you can not handle seek medical advice immediately as these could also be signs of a more serious issue.
However, if a medical professional says there is nothing wrong with you and you have not yet checked your chakras there are some affirmations and exercises that you can do to help heal and balance. Using jewelry and colors in clothing can dramatically help you as well.

Happy Healing
